Overall Objective: Facilitate the implementation of national commitments to gender equality and women’s human rights to consolidate peace in Nepal.
Specific Objectives:
- Strengthen the institutional and operational capacities of local civil society organizations (CSOs), private sector organizations, national government institutions, and local authorities for local-level implementation of NAP on UNSCRs 1325 & 1820.
Key Strategies and Focus Areas:
- Enhancing women’s leadership and participation in key decision-making structures.
- Supporting women leaders to take on leadership roles to promote peace and development.
- Increasing the knowledge and understanding of UNSCRs 1325 & 1820 among local-level women leaders.
- Aligning with NAP’s five pillars and supporting UNSCR 1325 specific global indicators 19, 20, 25, and 26.
- Strengthening the institutional and operational capacities of local CSOs.
- Improving networking and advocacy skills of local CSOs, especially women’s organizations.
- Establishing collaboration among local, national, and international organizations through constructive dialogue.
