Previous Projects

Establishing and Running a Transitional Justice Resource Centre (See-www.tjrcnepal.org) project has been implementing by WVAF since April 2011. TJRC which is continually operating in Anamnagar, Kathmandu, was initially funded by United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in close coordination with The Ministry of Peace and Reconstruction (MoPR). The primary target groups of the project included conflict victims, civil society, academia and policy makers.

Project Goal:

To disseminate information on Transitional Justice (TJ) mechanisms to the wider population and conflict victims through a Resource Centre

Objectives:

To provide a learning and interaction platform for the civil society, academia, conflict victims and policy makers to debate on and discuss transitional justice.

Project Results:

  • Well-equipped and fully furnished TJ Resource Centre  running smoothly,
  • The Resource Centre used frequently by various organizations and professionals for organizing meetings and workshops on issues related to transitional justice,
  • The fortnightly talk programmes providing a common platform for discussion among conflict victims and relevant stakeholders and raising issues on TJ,
  • The TJRC proving a floor for conflict victims to express their concerns,
  • The TJRC addressing the needs of conflict victims, CSOs, law professionals, researchers, etc.,
  • TJRC helping conflict victims and relevant stakeholders in updating themselves in TJ issues, and
  • Parliamentarians and policy makers benefiting by frequently visiting the TJRC.
