Mr. Nava Raj Adhikari,
Executive Director
Mr. Adhikari began his career with WVAF as the voluntary Executive Director. His major areas of professional experience are technical support to various Ministries of Government of Nepal (GoN); project evaluation and participatory monitoring and evaluation; social science and ethnographic research techniques; logical framework development and budget planning; project planning, design, implementation and technical management; transitional justice, peace building and social integration; promotion of the rights of women, indigenous people, Dalits and minorities; and gender, gender based violence, institutionalizing gender and participation. He has more than a decade of experience in development and research field. He has worked on more than a dozen development research projects and development programmes. He has done his Master's degree in Sociology and he is post graduate in life environment conservation science. He has in-depth knowledge and experience on development project management. He has worked as advisor and research fellow for national and international organizations. He has worked on social and economic arena development in several districts in Nepal.
Ms. Sita Gautam Acharya,
Senior Programme Officer
Ms. Acharya started her career with WVAF in 2008. She has more than 12 years of professional experience in the development field. Her major areas of professional expertise and experience are rights/result based project and partner management, gender and social inclusion, good governance and local governance, conflict resolution and transitional justice, capacity building and institutional development, advocacy, lobbying and campaign. She also has intensive experience and expertise in proposal/report writing, training report and manual development as well as in monitoring, evaluation, advocacy, networking, coordination, institutional development and capacity building of partner NGOs, CBOs, Users Committees including linkage development with various local government and line agencies. She has planned, designed and implemented various development projects at sub-national, district and community levels. She also worked in the Lutheran World Federation (LWF) Nepal in the capacity of Deputy Eastern Region Coordinator and was directly responsible for planning, implementation, coordination, monitoring and evaluation of LWF Nepal implemented projects such as Women Empowerment Project, Refuge Host Communities Support Programme, Gender Sensitive HIV/AIDs programme, Micro–credit and Micro-finance programme and Community-based Disaster preparedness or Risk Management programme. She also worked in the Fair Trade Group Nepal in the capacity of Country Coordinator. She has also carried out short term consultancy as an independent researcher/consultant and gender expert. Moreover, she has the experience of working as a lecturer and was Head of the Department in social science in the BBS College Shillong, India.
Mr. Karma Maharjan,
Admin and Finance Manager
Mr. Maharjan has more than 11 years of professional experience in finance, administrationand logistic management.His major areas of professional expertise and experience in the development field include all aspects of project budgeting, accounting and administrative management including income taxation and financial reporting. He also has the knowledge of professional application of accounting software package, i.e, Quick book and Tally ERP 9.
Mr. Sudarshan K.C.,
Programme Advisor
Mr. K.C. has over 30 years of experience in the design, implementation and facilitation of training activities, seminars, workshops on human relations development, peace building, mediation, good governance and participatory planning and management. He has the experience of working with the Ministry of Local Development, GON, Local Development Training Academy, INGOs and NGOs in the capacity of training director and training consultant. The participants of his training workshops include Government Officials, development workers and professional staff of development agencies, and local bodies. He has also been involved and worked in research studies in different capacities. He did his Masters in Public and International Affairs (MPIA), from University of Pittsburg, PA, USA, and Masters in Commerce (M.Com.) from Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu, Nepal.
Mr. Arjun Jung Shah,

Mr.Shah has over 25 years of professional experience in social science research, training and project/program implementation including proposal writing, execution, report writing, monitoring and evaluation on various areas including decentralization and governance. He has practical experience in training and facilitation skills. He has worked as a local governance expert and led many field based surveys and research activities. He completed his Masters in Agricultural Economics from University of the Philippines at Los Banos, and Masters in Economics from Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu, Nepal.
Mr. Bel Bahadur Gurung,

Mr. Gurung has more than five years of professional experience in the development field.His major areas of professional expertise and experiences are administration, logistics, project inventory management, project documentation, data and report collection, day-to-day office operation and communication. He also worked as an office assistant (Non gazette) at the Ministry of Home Affairs, Singh Durbar.He also worked as a Sub-overseer at DDC of Tanahun district.

Mr. Bhujel has more than two years of professional experience in community mobilization, administration and IT knowledge. His major areas of professional expertise and experience are community mobilization,administration, logistics, project documentation, data collection and communication. He also worked as a community worker in INVIDEPFO, Nepal and is involved in social services. He is currently completing his BEd.

Mr. Sharad Chandra Simkhada,

Mr. Simkhada, a resident of Dhawa-2 Gorkha, is a promising development professional. He holds M.Phil. Degree in Education (2007). Earlier he passed Master Degree in Anthropology in 1998. Since 1993, he has been intermittently involved in numerous pure and policy research projects together with several development projects. Just after the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA), he worked as a Project Coordinator in Democracy and Peace Project on the behalf of CAHURAST Nepal with the financial support of RDIF/ESP. Before 2005, he worked as a lecturer of Sociology and Anthropology at Drabya Shah Multiple Campus in Gorkha district. Mr. Simkhada joined Transitional Justice Resource Centre (TJRC) / World Vision Advocacy Forum (WVAF) as a Consulting Editor of Transitional Justice – a bilingual peace newsletter published during July-December, 2012 with financial support of United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). During January-June 2013, he worked as a Resource Centre Officer of TJRC Nepal. Currently, he has been editing a peace newsletter under the project “Enhancing Transitional Justice Process in Nepal” with the financial support of UNDP Nepal.
Mr. Lokendra Bhatta,

Mr. Bhatta has over three years of professional experience in media advocacy, radio programme production and presentation, good governance, promotion of Women and Indigenous people's rights, administration and IT knowledge, communication and office management. He has done Mater's Degree in Mass Communication and Journalism and is also engaged in part time teaching.
Ms. Pundevi Maharjan (Sujana),
Legal Advisor and Resource Centre Officer, TJRC
Ms. Maharjan was born in Lalitpur Sub-Metropolitan City Ward No. 2 of Nepal. She is a lawyer at the Supreme Court of Nepal with specialization in human rights and gender justice. She holds LLB, LLM and MA degrees from Tribhuvan University, Nepal. In the past she worked with Forum for Women, Law and Development (FWLD) in Kathmandu, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugee (UNHRC) Office in Damak, Jhapa, Lalitpur District Court, SAHARA, among other institutions. She has experiences on court litigations including Public Interest Litigations (PIL). She served as Executive Member of Lalitpur District Court Bar Association of Nepal.
Ms. Prativa Khanal,

Ms. Khanal completed her Bachelors in Law (LL.B) from Kathmandu School of Law, Kathmandu. She is also currently doing her Masters in Law (LL.M) in Kathmandu School of Law, Kathmandu. She had in the past also worked as an Intern at the Ministry of Law, Justice, Parliamentary Affairs and Constituent Assembly, Nepal in the International Law, Human Rights and Treaty Division where she was responsible in writing preliminary legal opinions on the issues of domestication of international law. She started her professional career as an Intern and Researcher in the American Bar Association Rule of Law Initiative, Nepal Country Office, a leading INGO on human rights and promotion of rule of law in Nepal, where she was responsible for the Forensic Assessment Report on the Investigations of major human rights violation cases (Enforced Disappearances, Extra-judicial Killings, Torture and Sexual and Gender Based Violations). Ms. Khanal also worked as a Facilitator for FGDs, Surveys and Interview for the Consultation Process for Community-based Integration of Ex-combatants in Nepal Project (STPP), Forum for Protection of Public Interest (Pro Public). She also worked as a Junior Legal Assistant in Paradise Legal Chamber, Kathmandu.
Mr. Upendra Man Shakya,,

Mr. Shakya has been engaged with WVAF since 2008. He worked for WVAF for successful implementation of EU funded Vulnerable Community Programme (VCP) in Achham district in 2009 and has been providing his technical expertise in resource generation for the organization since establishment of WVAF. Mr. Shakya holds academic qualifications in Bachelor Degree in Forestry, Master Degree in Business Administration (MBA) and Rural Development. His major areas of professional expertise and experiences are Renewable Energy, Natural Resource Management, Disaster Risk Management, Local governance and Sustainable Community Development Program. Mr. Shakya has about 17 years of work experiences in different development organization. He has already worked for the development agencies like German Financial Cooperation/KfW as a Programme Manager (Energy), Alternative Energy Promotion Center (AEPC)/Energy Sector Assistance Programme (ESAP) as a Regional Programme Coordinator, Community Development and Environment Conservation Forum (CDECF) & Regional Climate Risk Reduction Program (RCRRP)/UNDP, Sindhupalchowk, Nepal as a Socio-Economic Vulnerability Assessment Expert, Sustainable Community Development Program /CAP 21(UNDP) as a District Team Leader and DDC/Local Governacne Program (UNDP), Dolakha district as a Programme Officer. Now, Mr. Shakya has been working as a Capacity Building Expert and providing his technical expertise for "Go International" project funding by European Commission (EC) and Nepal Ex-Kamaiya Education and Poverty Alleviation (NEKEPA), Project funding by DFID/GPAF being implemented by WVAF
Mr. Deepak Joshi Pokharel,
Assistant Programme Coordinator
Mr. Pokharel was associated with WVAF for the implementation of "Fostering Health and Livelihoods of Conflict Affected People in Nepal" project funded by the European Union as a district project coordinator in Kalikot district for 1 year in 2009. Mr Pokharel possesses a Master’s Degree qualification in Rural Development and currently he is working as Monitoring and Documentation Officer in the NEKEPA project funded by DFID. Mr. Pokharel has excellent report writing and documentation skills and is also engaged in part time editing as sub-editor in an online information portal titled Sambad.
Mr. Birendra Tamrakar,
Admin and Finance Officer, PLUP Project
Mr. Tamrakar possesses a Masters’ Degree in Business Studies (MBS) and started working with WVAF from March 2014. He is responsible for financial planning, controlling, logistics & book keeping as well as for proper documentation & reporting, and administrative support for the Participatory Land Use Planning and Implementation Project (PLUP) funded by UN Habitat. He has more than 5 years of experience in similar tasks, such as preparation and provision of management reports to Executives and Finance/Audit Committees, project planning & budgeting, financial plans, preparation of cash flow management processes, and management of processes to record & reconcile expenses against income. Moreover, he also has extensive knowledge of research processes. Previously, he had been working as Finance & Admin officer for Beam Consultant Pvt Ltd., a group of engineering consultants. Other previous work experiences include working as a youth activist and Programme cum Account Assistant for the Human Rights, Good Governance And Public Hearing programme with Dalit Human Rights Organization (DHRO) in kind support with Danida HUGOU, Dalit NGO Federation (DNF)/core. Additionally, he was also working as an independent Research Person for Feminist Dalit Organization (FEDO)/Core to support the WomenKind UK project, interned for Forum for protection of Public Interest (Pro-Public) and was involved as a Research Associate and volunteer for Nepal Creative Center for Research (NCCR) funded by UN Women.
Mr. Bhagawat Rimal, Ph.D,
Team Leader, PLUP Project
Dr. Rimal has been involved in WVAF since March, 2014. Dr. Rimal has completed his Master’s Degree from Tribhuvan University in 2003 and Ph.D. in Geography from University of Wroclaw in 2011 with the specification on “Urban Development and Land Use Change of Nepalese Main Cities”. He has more than ten years of professional experience in the field of Natural and applied science. He acquires the intensive expertise on Remote Sensing, GIS, Urban Planning, Geomorphology, Applied Ecology, Environmental Impact Assessment, Environmental Management, Risk management and Spatial Modelling. Dr. Rimal has been strongly involved as the Team Leader in Participatory Land use planning and Implementation Project. He has performed as National Land Use Planning Expert in the project entitled Analytical Study on Assessing the Value of Forests, the Political Economy of Land Use and the Carbon Emissions from the Drivers of DD, GIS/ RS Expert in the project Environmental, Social and Geological Study of Upper Trishuli- 1, GIS/ RS Expert in Environmental Impact and safeguard Studies including Feasibility studies and design of Budhi Gandaki hydro Power Project, GIS Expert in Environmental, Social and Geological Survey for Nation-wide Master Plan Study On Nine Storage-type Hydroelectric Power Development In Nepal, GIS Expert in GIS Based Floral Mapping in Surkhet District, Team Leader/ GIS Expert in Research conducted on Urban Development and Decline of Pokhara Sub- Metropolitan City Nepal. Dr. Rimal has participated in a number of national and international seminars, workshops, conferences and training programs. He has on his credit more than 10 research paper publications on different national and international scientific journals.
