Manju Singh Rana's journey is a testament to her dedication and impact in the social development sector. Having a wonderful childhood with three siblings and experiencing three different schools contributed to her diverse perspectives and adaptability. Her academic achievements, with a Master's in Sociology and a Post Graduate Diploma in Women's Studies, laid the foundation for a career that began in 1997. Starting as a Sociologist under the Department of Water Supply and Sewerage, she later transitioned to the Women Development Program under the Ministry of Local Development. Serving as a Women Development Officer and District Chief in the Mid-West Region (now in Lumbini Pradesh), she gained valuable insights into the social development challenges at the grassroots level.
With over 28 years of experience, she has specialized in Women development, Gender and development, Social inclusion, Governance, Livelihood, Capacity building, Civil society strengthening, and Disability. Her work extends beyond government agencies to collaborations with UN, I/NGOs, bilateral, and multilateral development organizations. A standout feature of her career is her dedication to capacity building through numerous training sessions. Covering a wide array of topics including Gender and Social Inclusion, Social Preparation, Entrepreneurship development, Partners support, Downward accountability, Micro-credit, Cooperative formation, Gender-based violence, and Livelihoods promotion, she has significantly contributed to the professional development of others in the field.
