Mr. Balkrishna Sharma is a highly experienced professional with over 25 years of expertise in gender, monitoring, and evaluation (MEL) in humanitarian and development settings. Holding master's degrees in Zoology/Ecology and Rural Development, he has worked with renowned organizations like UNDP, UNFPA, UNWOMEN, UKAID, and ADB across Asia and Africa.
Throughout his career, he has held diverse roles, from Gender Officer to District Development Advisor, Monitoring and Social Mobilization Specialist, and Development Coordinator. His versatility is evident in his contributions to projects such as DRR planning in Afghanistan, serving as a Gender Advisor in Nepal's DDR program, and working as a Gender and Vulnerable Groups Advisor with DFID Nepal.
His expertise extends to gender mainstreaming in training, research, and development, covering areas like poverty and social assessment, gender capacity assessment, gender-responsive planning and budgeting, governance, Gender-Based Violence (GBV), human rights, social protection, and more.
